Itinerary Snapshot

Day 1 & 2

🌿 Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome to the Rainforest

We recommend flying into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) the day before the retreat begins. Group transportation will depart from the SJO area at 10:00 AM on June 1st. (We’ll provide recommended nearby hotels in your welcome email.)

From there, we’ll travel together through Costa Rica’s lush countryside to Finca Luna Nueva Lodge. We’ll stop along the way for lunch (not included).

Upon arrival, settle into your room, explore the grounds, and begin to unwind in the heart of the rainforest.

That evening, we’ll gather for a welcome group dinner at the lodge (included), followed by relaxed time to connect, rest, and ease into retreat rhythm.

🌿 Day 2 – Regenerative Farming & Herbal Wisdom

Breakfast each day is served from 7:00–9:00 AM.

At 9:00 AM, we’ll meet for a guided Organic Farm Tour to explore Finca Luna Nueva’s regenerative agriculture practices and learn how their “beyond organic” philosophy nourishes both land and guests.

Lunch is served at 1:00 PM and features fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced directly from the farm and neighboring small-scale producers. The lodge follows a true farm-to-table philosophy — menus change daily based on harvest and season. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and other dietary needs are happily accommodated.

At 2:00 PM, we’ll gather for a hands-on Herbal Medicine Workshop, where you’ll deepen your connection to plants and create your own herbal preparation to take home.

Dinner is served buffet-style from 6:00–9:00 PM, highlighting the day’s harvest and seasonal ingredients. Evenings are relaxed and open — enjoy the pool, the solar-heated jacuzzi, hammocks on the wrap-around porch, or simply unwind to the sounds of the rainforest.

Day 3 & 4

🌿 Day 3 – La Fortuna & Baldi Hot Springs

Breakfast is served from 7:00–9:00 AM.

After breakfast, we’ll head into the vibrant town of La Fortuna, nestled at the base of Arenal Volcano. We’ll spend the late morning exploring the town together — browsing local art galleries, stopping for Costa Rican coffee, visiting the chocolate café, and enjoying lunch in town (not included).

You’ll have time to shop, wander, and soak in the energy of this colorful mountain community.

In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to Baldi Hot Springs, where you’ll relax in natural thermal pools heated by the Arenal Volcano. Surrounded by lush jungle and mountain views, these mineral-rich waters offer the perfect opportunity to unwind and recharge.

After a restorative soak, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner (included) and a relaxed evening back in the rainforest.

🌿 Day 4 – Farmers Market & Chocolate Workshop

Breakfast is served from 7:00–9:00 AM.

At 9:30 AM, we’ll depart for Ciudad Quesada to experience the lively Thursday farmers market, affectionately known as “la feria.”

This weekly ritual brings together thousands of locals and offers an explosion of color, aromas, and flavors. Stalls overflow with tropical fruits like mangoes, pejibayes, rambutan, and fresh coconuts, alongside herbs, baked goods, flowers, and handcrafted souvenirs.

You’ll receive pocket money during the tour to sample local treats — perhaps a refreshing “Copo” (traditional shaved ice) or freshly cut fruit as you explore.

Beyond shopping, the market is a true cultural experience. Locals gather to socialize, families stroll through the aisles, and vendors greet visitors with warm smiles. It’s a chance to observe Costa Rican life in its most authentic form — and even practice a little Spanish.

The tour concludes with a traditional lunch prepared in an authentic Costa Rican kitchen — a flavorful and heartfelt introduction to local cuisine.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the lodge for a hands-on Chocolate Workshop, where you’ll learn about cacao’s history and craft your own chocolate creations.

Dinner is included back at the lodge, followed by a relaxed evening to unwind.

Day 5 & 6

🌿 Day 5 – Jungle Adventure & Volcano Views

Breakfast is served from 7:00–9:00 AM.

Today is our most adventurous day.

After breakfast, we’ll head toward La Fortuna for a full-day excursion into Costa Rica’s wild beauty. Guests will choose between curated adventure options, allowing you to shape the experience that fits your energy and comfort level.

Option 1: Safari Float + Waterfall + Arenal Volcano Hike

This small-group experience begins with a peaceful wildlife safari float along the Peñas Blancas River, where you may spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and tropical birds along the jungle banks.

Next, enjoy a short hike to a hidden waterfall, with time to swim and cool off beneath cascading waters. (The hike involves 500 steps.)

After lunch at an organic farm, the day concludes with a guided hike in Arenal National Park, offering spectacular views of the iconic volcano and surrounding rainforest.

(Lunch, park entrance fees, and guided transport are included in this experience.)

Alternative adventure options may include ziplining, hanging bridges, horseback riding, or a free day in La Fortuna for those who prefer a slower pace.

In the evening, we’ll return to the lodge for our final group dinner together — a chance to reflect, celebrate, and savor the journey we’ve shared.

🌿 Day 6 – Farewell & Departure

Enjoy one final breakfast in the rainforest from 7:00–9:00 AM.

After breakfast, we’ll depart together for return transportation to the SJO area.

As you leave Costa Rica, you’ll carry home not only memories of waterfalls and volcanoes — but new friendships, fresh inspiration, and a deeper connection to nature.
